Anti-Hyperlipidemic Effect of Zinc complex of Betulinic acid in High Fat Diet- Induced Hyperlipidemia

چکیده
Background: Hyperlipidemia is considered a modifiable risk factor for cardiovascular disease and atherosclerosis. Drugs of first choice, Statins, despite being well tolerable, are accompanied by many adverse effects. To tackle the shortcomings standard drugs, there dire demand to make an agent which equates better response. This study evaluated anti-hyperlipidemic comparative effects Zinc complex Betulinic acid (Zn+BA) with simvastatin (SIM), on high-fat diet-induced hyperlipidemia in rats, safety profile two treatments was also assessed. Methodology: induced giving diet. BA +Zn 10 mg/kg SIM 20 were given orally four weeks. On final day terminal sampling done serum lipid (TG, TC, LDL, HDL) hepatic enzymes (ALT) assessing hepatotoxicity estimated. Results: Our results showed that BA+Zn significantly increased HDL levels reduced TG, LDL (p<0.001) as compared Simvastatin. Correspondingly ALT significant reduction comparison Conclusion: suggests effectively attenuates while preserving function could serve alternative treating hyperlipidemia.
